🌿 Why Visit Hassayampa River Preserve

Hassayampa River Preserve is known for its rare year-round flowing river, something you don’t see often in Arizona.

Because of this, the area is filled with lush greenery, cottonwood trees, and shaded paths, creating a completely different experience from typical desert hikes.

It’s also one of the top spots for birdwatching in Arizona, with over 280 species recorded. There's also a lot of other wildlife spotted there! They even keep a journal for visitor's to record what animals they seen, be sure to sign it on your way out and record what your family found.

Visitor Center (A Must-Stop with Kids)

The Visitor Center is one of the highlights of visiting Hassayampa River Preserve, especially for families or homeschool groups.

Inside, you’ll find:

Easy, Stroller-Friendly Trails

One of the best things about Hassayampa River Preserve is how accessible it is for families.

The trails are:

• Flat and well-maintained

• Shaded by cottonwood and mesquite trees
