If you’re looking for things to do with kids in Arizona, this laid-back weekend getaway with stunning mountain views, great food, and easy outdoor adventures in Sierra Vista should be top of your list. We still talk about how much we loved it. It’s truly one of Arizona’s most underrated destinations AND It's the Hummingbird Capital of the World.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn and it was perfect for families. It's clean, comfy, free breakfast, a pool AND a hot tub. Plus, rooms are super affordable, even on the weekend! It’s right off Fry Blvd, which makes it in a convenient spot for everything we did.

Itinerary:

Sierra Vista truly had some of the best local food spots! These were our faves:

Vinny’s New York Pizza – Felt like we were in NYC, and yes, we all agreed the pizza and wings were that good. They have pool tables in there to play which the kids loved and brought us back to the 90's feeling.

Nirvana's Cup of Joe – Great stop for local coffee and pastries, right before you go into Ramsay Canyon Preserve and the ranch.

Tombstone Brewing West End - Local brewery with great food! Kids and dogs allowed and they have a great spot out back to sit and view the stunning mountains.

Landmark Cafe - Don't miss this! It's a local hometown cafe. Delicious coffee, amazing service and hands down some of the best homecooked food in Arizona. They also have outdoor seating.

🌿 Ramsay Canyon Preserve – Gorgeous trails and hummingbirds everywhere. Heads up: it's $8 per person and hours can vary, so double-check before you go. This is truly the highlight of the trip. You will feel like you're walking around some sort of magical fairyland.

🏞 Ramsay Canyon Ranch – You can visit using your America the Beautiful pass! This ranch will completely transport you back in time. You can tour the house, the grounds, and hike around the gorgeous mountain scenery.

Whether you're into hiking, relaxing, or just escaping the heat, Sierra Vista is a gem. We went during their Fall Octoberfest and it was the best time. The sunsets are gorgeous, and the festival was full of fun from rides and games to amazing food trucks and live music. It's such a small-town type of feel.

While in southern Arizona you can check out nearby places like Tombstone, Tucson, Madera Canyon, and Bisbee .

Outdoor and travel recommendations for families:

G2G Protein Bars Our favorite snacks, whether just at home to fuel through the day, after workouts or while on trips or hikes, these are the best. The kids especially love the peanut butter and jelly ones. Personally, I like the Coconut Mocha. I will have one of these and it keeps me full the whole day.
